Job Description of CO2 Specialist

Job Requirements:


Degree in Chemical Engineering with 15-20 years or more experience in Design & Engineering of Oil & Gas Projects. The experience shall include minimum 2-3 Projects for CO2 Pipelines for Oil & Gas Projects as well as familiarity of international codes & standards. Experience of using HYSYS and PIPESIM is desirable. 

Should have worked on projects involving CO2 Capture, Enhanced Oil Recovery using CO2 injection, CO2 pipeline – High Pressure Dense phase, Booster pumps/compressors for dense phase CO2. Should have experience in fracture control propagation study for CO2 Injection Projects.

Should have familiarity with Design concepts of CO2 Pipeline, sectionalizing, depressurization and low temperature issues, material selection and corrosion aspects, safety aspects etc. 

Should have familiarity with internal corrosion study for CO2 pipelines and oil production pipelines with high CO2/H2S content and should be familiar with the material selection for such pipelines. 

Should have experience for supervision of Commissioning of the CO2 facilities with a proven track record and history in CO2 system commissioning. 

Job Responsibilities:

As CO2 specialist of Project Management team his responsibilities shall include review of process design, including the PFDs, PIDs & the project philosophies and to supervise the precommissioning and Commission of CO2 Injection Project. Provide process-engineering tasks as required to ensure a project is executed effectively and passes the required performance test.
